CHAMBRAY THROUGH TIME

Chambray has its roots in 16th century Cambrai, France — originally woven as fine linen “cambric,” later evolving into the breathable, colour-rich weave we all love today.
Its signature: a colored warp meets a white weft, creating that subtly heathered look that’s softer, lighter, and built to age beautifully.

From aristocratic handkerchiefs to American blue-collar workwear, the Chambray has worn many hats, without ever losing its elegance.

With that legacy in mind, in 2022 we’ve crafted our Chambray Shirt to feel historic yet thoroughly modern. 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton in a 170 g/sqm chambray weave that’s soft yet sturdy, cut in a slightly slim fit with a box pleat and a handy front-left pocket for low-key utility. Finished with bio-resin buttons.

Raw materials arrive from India, spun in Portugal at Troficolor, and sewn into Shirt form at DOCAS in Braga. All this journey while travelling 11,700 km to reach you our warehouse Lisbon.

Elegant and versatile, this Shirt is built to be worn, remembered, and revived. Lightweight enough for spring, substantial enough for layering. Crafted with integrity, made for longevity. It’s surely part of any wardrobe’s foundation. So good we've later made a short sleeved camp-collar version.

A QUICK GUIDE:
CHAMBRAY VS
DENIM SHIRT

Chambray: lightweight, breathable, woven with a colored warp and white weft. Smooth finish, softer drape, perfect for layering or wearing solo.

Denim Shirt: heavier, twill weave, sturdier feel with the classic diagonal rib. Built to take a beating, the workhorse of wardrobes.
