COTTON POPLIN

The love affair with Poplin is a tale as old as time. Dating back to 14th-century Avignon, France, it took its name from "papaline" — a reference to the papacy. Originally a silk-wool blend reserved for nobility, poplin no longer needs a title to feel regal. Just a well-made cotton weave, now a staple in every men's closets.

The weave itself is what gives poplin its character: finer threads in the weft, thicker in the warp, woven densely together. The result is a compact, smooth fabric with a cool, dry touch.

Our shirt is cut from a lightweight 110 g/sqm, 100% Organic Cotton Poplin, GOTS Certified. Crisp yet breathable, with a slightly relaxed fit — not too close, not too loose. Structured enough to look sharp, light enough to forget you're wearing it.

MAKE IT LAST LONGER - TIP 1

TAKING CARE OF COTTON TWILL GARMENTS

  • Machine wash cold (30°C), preferably on a gentle cycle, or wash by hand using cold or lukewarm water. Treat any stains before washing the full piece.
  • Iron for a crisp finish, or steam if you prefer a gentler approach — poplin's tight weave responds well to both and holds a sharp press.
  • Air dry inside out, preferably away from direct sun exposure, to help the fabric keep its natural white/color.
  • Before washing, take a moment to reflect if you can skip it and just air it out instead.
