The Circular Fashion Leader

Montemurlo - ITALY
Employees: 66
Established: 1943
Capacity: 9.5 Million meters/year

In the 1940s, Manteco began repurposing surplus military goods from post-war Italy, transforming unusable items like blankets and clothing into valuable and premium recycled wool yarns. Founder Enzo Anacleto Mantellassi pioneered a chemical-free process in Prato, where mechanical and wet techniques are still used today. The result is a range of undyed wool colors through the Recype® process, and luxurious fabrics with different weaves and finishes, all made with the next-generation Recycled Wool, MWool®—the fabric used in our Recycled Wool Work Jacket, Heavy Wool Jacket, Wool Trousers, Wool Cap and Wool Coat.

Cheers to a fashion industry that's cleaner, fairer, and keeps things in circulation.
