Bistro Bicho-Mau: glad we have you in the same neighborhood

There's something special about living in Lisboa right now. We can't really tell if it's a general feeling but, for us, genuinely Lisboners but also globetrotters, there's finally the impression that this City is evolving and peaking up the best businesses can offer. Take the example of Rita Gama and Tomás Rocha, owners and mind-chefs of Bistro Bicho-Mau, in Campo de Ourique: a place that combines relevant experience in French Bistrot's, with a very interesting curation of wines with food you want seconds of. Every ingredient is sourced locally. Every wine is sourced personally.

Bicho Mau

Before joining forces to open Bicho Mau - and after meeting when they were both working at A Cevicheria -, Rita and Tomás had a pleasant experience in Nice, where they found what would their greatest reference: the perfect-simple-tiny-old school restaurant La Merenda from ex-Michelin-starred chef Dominique Le Stanc and his wife Danielle.

The end result: a perfect place to eat fresh local food with great desire for everything related to tarteres and combine them with a fresh, juicy white wine in chilled Friday lunch with friends.
