DINING DIARIES:
BERLIN

With a new store in Berlin, we've got the perfect excuse to hop on a plane, wander around and discover every little corner that makes this place so unique.

KEIT BAKERY

Who knew bread could be this exciting? At KEIT Bakery, the dough gets more pampering than ever. It's a collective of passionate chefs, bakers, engineers, art historians, and sociologists all united by a singular mission: to make bread that's so good we could have it delivered to our office every single morning.

Sourced within 100 km of Berlin, the natural ingredients capture the unique flavor of the local area. Every loaf is a masterpiece, handled with the care it deserves. We could call it the Apple Store but for bread. It's a necessary pit stop when in town.

CHIPPERFIELD KANTINE

Chipperfield Kantine is where great design meets great dining. Nestled in Berlin-Mitte, this canteen, designed by David Chipperfield Architects, serves up vegetarian dishes that are as beautifully crafted as the building itself. Open to their staff but, thankfully for us, to the general public too.

The menu changes daily, ensuring every visit is a pleasant surprise. Enjoy a leisurely lunch of mustard eggs with mashed potatoes or a vegetarian chili, all while sitting under the shade of plane trees in their serene courtyard. The minimalist design — exposed concrete, wood, and marble — makes it clear that here, less really is more.

JOLESCH

Jolesch brings the heart of Austrian culinary culture to Berlin-Kreuzberg, combining tradition and modernity. While mesmerized by a fresh painting in the dining room, our food arrived. Their Wiener Schnitzel is a golden, crispy slice of heaven, heralded as the best in Berlin by none other than Heinz Hormann. We’re on the same page.

It's impressive how fresh regional ingredients really make a difference. Paired with their top-quality wines, we had a lovely time. And for those who think Austrian cuisine is all about meat, think again — their menu will make you rethink everything you thought you knew about Austrian food.
